no post count?

I averaged 17.2 on my trip to NC. and around 18 on the way back. When I was on 12 leaving Hatteras I filled up and reset the mpg and found most of the way on 12 I was getting 22.4 mpg. It dropped to 18 for the total average.

Dang that's some good mpg's. I got back from my trip to Tenn and calculated my mileage at 16-17 on the highways. Thought that was pretty good considering my lift and tires.

I did buy a truck because I need one! Lease roads are not good for cars and non 4x4's and I need to get down them for work. My friend, trucks are a need! I got 17.5 miles/gallon last long road trip... that was using a whole tank. When I only use half my tank i always calculate it at around 15.5 miles per gallon... wierd. I'd love to sqeeze out as much mileage as I possibly can since i basically live out of my truck...

I guess I need a tune up then eh? 80k miles... 04 Screw FX4... don't know which gearing I have... ScanGauge is reporting 11.8mpg city (3 miles to work, 3 miles home). My last combined tank was 14.5mpg and I had ~70% of those miles highway.

Something seems off... although I am wondering if it is just the gas I am using.... last two tanks were both lower than I thought they would be (14 and 14.5 mpg). I filled up at Kroger because I had fuel points for 20 cents off. First tank I had a month ago gave me ~19mpg and I had combined highway, country, and city driving. That gas came from Speedway. The gas that was in the tank when I bought it came from BP I think and I also saw similar ~17-19mpg from that one. I didn't hand calculate that though. The next tank from Marathon was 17.5mpg.

I will fill up next time with another station's gas and see what happens. Places like Speedway, Kroger, Sam's Club, etc are Wholesale stations and buy their gas wherever it is cheaper.

I don't expect stellar milage, but I don't see why I can't be getting 15-16 city and 19-20 highway with the way I drive.

Also have to factor in the stupid winter gas... /sigh

Fuelly is telling me that if I can add +3 mpg (putting me at 17.5) I would save $11! Over 10 or 20 tanks (I think I will be filling up about twice a month) that is some significant coin...
