if you are going to complain about people not caring about how they drive, what the hell are you doing driving a truck?

dont say someone needs to care more when you drive the same damned truck.

You also gotta think Ty that some people have no choice in buying a truck. I got one mainly cause I needed it. I also try to save on gas now. (I don't really need the truck anymore but can't stand cars now that I've had a truck). So I too set the cruise on 59 mph. The best I've been getting is about 20 mpg.

If you have the money to lift it and make it all cool, I say go for it. Just wish I could do the same thing. I have a mortgage and all kinds of other bills so every penny counts.

I'm sure you are enjoying your truck just as you had planned and that's your choice to drive like you want to but that's one of the things contributing to higher fuel consumptions in the US.

As people get a little older they begin to understand that we are part of the bigger picture and can be a contributor to making things better.
See where you drive makes a difference in how fast you drive. I thought you were indicating you drove 62 on the interstates, not a 2 lane highway where the speed limit is probably 60mph. I just finished a 3600 mile family vacation and on the interstates I'd set my cruise at 72 (when speed limits were 70). I think you may have misunderstood and thought I always drove my truck at WOT, but trust me I don't. With gas near $3 a gallon I'm all for squeezing as much mileage out of my tanks that I can so I drive right at or near the speed limit.

Also I agree with Ty, if you really want to help save fuel consumption then buy a hybrid or buy something that gets 40-50mpg's. Don't buy a truck that gets half as much and then say someone else's drivng style is contributing to the higher fuel consumption in America.

Im going to have to call bs on that one, Trucks are not a necessity, they are a want, you Do not need a truck to pull your fishing boat, you want a truck to pull your fishing boat. You dont need a fishing boat, you want a fishing boat. You dont need to go fishing, you want to go fishing.

the examples are endless.

unless you are a contractor or a truck driver.....

Please don't be offended by this, but why didn't you just buy a PRIUS?

Because I wanted a full size pickup that got decent fuel mileage for a truck.
