Default My first F-150, the list has begun!!

Got a great deal and only 66k miles!! Now I'm creating a to-do list that seems endless, but first up is to lose the cap and add a tool box. I am thinking about going with a black low-profile box. Anyone love/hate the low profile boxes?? Seems practical especially because I want it just for some extra storage for a few tools and straps.

Thoughts on the black low profile tool box? I think it would look nice against this dark blue color. My plan is to add more and more black to the truck (tinted windows, headlights, taillights, new running boards, wheels)

I would keep the camper shell and add an in-bed toolbox. That's what I have and l love it.

I have a toolbox that came out of a Nissan that fits perfect and it sits 4-6" below the bed. I just don't like how the other ones sit on the bed and are like 4" taller than the bed rail.

How old are you dehel10 ? Just out of curiosity cause if you hunt or do four wheeling then you might want to take that "thing" off. I'm not against them, just think they take up too much room that could be useful.

I'm 29, I just am not a huge fan of having it on there, I feel like it takes away from the look of a pick up. Plus I'd like the convenience of the open truck bed come summer time when I'll be hauling things. And easy access to a cooler full of beer of course.

Nice, low mileage truck you found there. I had caps on trucks, but always ended up ditching them. Now that I have a family, it would come in handy for trips up north. The truck fills up with girly things very fast.
The thing that doesn't make a cap work so hot, is my job in construction. The back window would be busted out in a week, and I sometimes haul water barrels, which stick up taller than the cab.
The best thing I did was, find myself a foldable hard cover. It's waterproof, locks, and folds out of the way if need be. I have a big plastic locking tote, that I picked up from Menards for around $40, that I keep tools, fastners, straps, and other stuff, nice and organized.
The other thing that always bugged me about caps, was the giant blind spot.

Covered up.

Folded up.

I would definitely go with a tool box or some kind of bed top. The camper shells are functional but thats about all you can say about them. They look pretty damn ugly and you lose the truck look of your F150. Just my opinion, not trying to bash those who like them.....

I love my low profile toolbox in my truck it only sticks up about 2 inches and doesn't block the back window
