Default My 08 XL 4x2 w/ reg cab & 6.5' bed seems to sit as high as a 4x4...Why?

Alright, as the title says, my completely stock 2008 XL 2x4 appears to sit as high as a stock 4x4, which seems odd. Since I got my F150 2 weeks ago, I've been looking at other F150s more, and it seems that the majority of 4x2 F150s sit relatively low, where as mine seems to sit about the same height as a stock 4x4. I've pulled up next to 4x4 F150s and Rams, and have been, more or less, at eye level with the driver.

Now, I don't mind this, I simply want to find out if anyone knows why this might be. It seems odd that my 4x2 would be the same height as a 4x4, when all other 4x2s that I've noticed seem to be significantly lower. Here's a pic of mine, from the side, so you can make your own judgement:

Perhaps it's just my imagination, and my doesn't really sit any higher, it just feels like it. Thoughts?

Hahaha! Well, unfortunately, my base model doesn't have cool features like height adjustment, but that's alright I don't have any issues with space clearance, just felt like I was sitting higher than other 2wds and wanted to know if anyone thought it was odd. Must be me

This is an easy solution to satisfy our curiousity. When you go to the dealer or market or work or wherever there may be a 4x4 F150 park next to it. And eyeball it.

Most likely an illusion on your part. Stock 4WD's come with a 2" lift block in the rear, I'll gurantee you your's don't have that unless it was added at the dealership.

Thanks Karl! I generally am not a big fan of white, but this Oxford White is just slightly off-white, and I think it's a really good looking "color," though it's a biatch to keep clean, as I'm sure you know You're truck looks great BTW, I had no idea that it's an XL until I looked at your profile What you did is very similar to what I want to do: get a chrome or color matched bumper with the stock round fog light holes, color match the upper bumper piece and the rear bumper, and get a different grill, along with some different rims eventually. Only problem is I don't know that I'll ever find the pieces I want in the right color, so I'm probably stuck getting them painted, and that will be a sizeable chunk of change. If nothing else, I think I'll definitely get everything color matched eventually, and perhaps do some custom fog lights down in the cut-outs for the 4x4 tow hooks or something along those lines. We'll see how the money goes and what I come across
