Default My 04 progress thread

I I purchased my new to me 2004 ford f150 xlt 2wd 5.4l v8 in November and I'd like to show everyone my progress as well as let people see some of the mods I've done and will be doing in the future!

The night I got her

Next day

So for the beginning I decided I was going to go far a black and white look since my truck is all white. So I started off with tinting my tail lights; I used 1200-2000 grit wet sand paper, vht nightshade, some cleaner to clean the lights before painting
As well as I did purchase and do the HBS 2.5" leveling kit myself. And ofcourse the gotts mod and take out the crappy windshield wiper fluid box. (no chek engine light or anything; win!)

Before

After

Installed

Installed with a chrome truck box (Bedlined)

After that I had to get rid of my chrome bumpers so I took off my front one and and masked off the back bumper and sanded down the chrome with 100 grit sandpaper then did one coat sand able primer then 4 coats spray on Bedliner

Next was to get my rid of the chrome on my tires and emblems. For the emblems I just did 4 coats of plastidip and the rims I purchased some level 8 tracker rims from discount tires direct (~$600)
To complete the whole look I had to purchase new tires, especially since my original tires were getting pretty worn. So I found 4 295/75/17 nitto terra grapplers for roughly $1100

Next was to put on some reverse lights to make up for my stock ones were not bright enough for the night shade.

Next was to get rid of the god awful brown trim. I friend of mine had one of his co workers do the paint for me over night and I must say he did a damn fine job.

Next up was saleen grille that I purchased from stage 3 motorsports. Install was very easy and it definately looks good imo!

So far so good the last mod that I've done is adding a Smittybilt light bar plus 4 hella black magic lights wired to 2 switches in my cab where the coinholder would be (2wd only)

Some of the inside stuff ive done is edge CS programmer; canned, new Sony stereo, alpine amplifier, underseat subwoofer and box, painted my steps black and got black floor mats.

So far so good and more mods to come including CB/PA setup, towing mirrors, Harley Davidson headlights and more whenever it comes to mind!

Tell me what you think or ask any questions. Throw opinions or new ideas whatever! I'm open for anything.

That's a beautiful truck! I like the hood ornament in your wide open picture.
