Gotta have for me was 4x4, Sunroof, and reverse camera (makes backing up to my boat or trailor very easy by yourself) The camera points right at the receiver hitch

I just bought a 08 FX4 with the Luxury Package. It has everything I wanted and more. It is pretty much an FX4 with lariat options. I don't have the sunroof, backup camera, or GPS head unit. I don't tow very often and I have an stand alone GPS so I can swap it out of our vehicles if I need it.
For me the must haves were a 4x4 with limited slip #1.
During my searching Not all lariats come with the electronic limited slip. It is an option on the XLT and Lariats. As previously mentioned check the door code if the dealership is unsure and their service department is closed. Typically B6 or H9 will be limited slip. I also looked at an f150 that had an f250 rear for towing but it was not limited slip. Also the FX4s are all standard option limited slip.
#2 Power windows/door locks with the keypad outside for Hunting or if the wife forgets the keys inside.
#3 Tow package. Like I said before I don't tow very often but when I have the need to pull a trailer I want to know it was there. Mine has both 7 and 4 pin harness from the factory as well as the tranny cooler.
Auto temp controls and auto headlights are a nice convenience as well as the Heated seats (glad I have them with the leather option). But they were not a necessity when we were looking at the F150's.
When I was buying the truck the owner of the dealership told me "These options are nice and after owning one with them I won't buy another one with out them." I have only owned it for a month now and am loving it, so I don't know if that statement is true for everyone.

I have found a couple clean 03 lariat Crew cabs for $10000. I like the price and have always like the body style. Should I save the 3000-5000 dollars over getting an 04-up?
