Default multiple p codes after timming chain, oil pump and phaser replacment.

Hello
I was wondering if anyone could help with this problem I am having with my 04 lariat 4x4 5.4l 3v. the truck had the typical diesel sounding phaser noise a couple months after I bought it in August of last year. I did tons of reading on all the forums I could find as I was researching to have the phasers replaced. November rolled around and it started to get a bit of a rough idol. it threw a lean code every so often so I figured I would replace the vct solenoids while waiting for time to have the phasers done. pulled both vct's and both appeared to be in rough shape. both had screens missing and were pretty varished up. after replacing them with oem the truck ran great! no codes no rough idol, nothing seemed to be wrong but the irritating sound of the phasers. a couple weeks ago when I was pulling into my driveway the truck started to shake bad and would barley idol. CEL came on so I read the codes and it was a p0022. so there and then I decided it was time for the phasers to be replaced. had both phasers, timming chain oil pump all the guides and tensioners replaced. went and picked it up today and asked a few questions as to the condition of the old components and the mechanic told me they wernt in that bad of shape except for a piece of the guide that broke off that he found in the pick up screen as I had him remove the pan to clean it out. He said it was one of the cleaner 5.4's he has worked on. Well after pulling into the driveway once again it started shaking bad again and CEL came on once again. this time it is giving me 5 codes p0171, p0010, p0020,p0022 and p2198 I have checked f32 fuse its fine checked voltage at vct solenoid conection and seems to be fine. don't know where to go next has anyone experienced these same codes all at the same time? I find it hard to believe both vct solenoids would go at the same time (p0010,p0020) what else could be causeing this everything is all new. any help would be appreciated!! Thanks

New as in Motorcraft phasers or Dorman? How many miles since replacement?

all the parts used were oem ford motorcraft parts. about 20 miles since they were replaced. the guy I had do it has done hundreds of them. All I can think of is the tensioners gaskets didn't seat right causeing low oil pressure to the top end. the only other problem is the guy I had do it only will guarantee his work so if its a failed part I will have to pay for it all over again. only thing I can think of is oil pressure as I'm getting timing codes in both banks and chances of both phasers being bad seems slim to none to me. I am thinking he put the chain 1 totth out but then why was it fine to drive home. I'm stumped here!

Every single timing component was replaced except the positioning sensors and I'm not getting codes for those so I'm guessing they are fine. he did say he found pieces of chain guide in the pick up so maybe some made it up to the solenoids? Is that possible?

Possible if debris was in the pan that it made it to the new screens. You can pull and check them yourself it sounds like.

Interesting. What makes the screen suck in, just stuff clogging it up?

That's what I'm guessing. There was pieces of the chain guide stuck in the pick up screen so I'm guessing some made it up into the solenoid screen!
