Default Couple Newbie Tuner Questions

So at work I found a Bama SCT x3 Tuner in a trade-in.

1. How do I erase these Mustang tunes off of this tuner?
2. Are there canned tunes already on here? How do I check?
3. Are there free tunes out there?
4. How do I save my stock tune to the tuner? Is it an option when I plug the tuner into the truck?

I'll probably have more questions, but this should be good for now.
Thanks guys!

Aidan

1. How do I erase these Mustang tunes off of this tuner? If it is still married to the Mustang you will have to either return the Mustang to stock, its a option when you plug it into the car or send it back to SCT and pay them $150 to unlike it.
2. Are there canned tunes already on here? How do I check? Cant say for sure.
3. Are there free tunes out there? No
4. How do I save my stock tune to the tuner? Is it an option when I plug the tuner into the truck? Your stock tune will save to the X3 when uploading the new tune into your truck.

I would suggest returning the Mustang if the dealer still has it to stock and then call a tuner of your choice and have a custom tune written for your truck. Canned tunes suck compared to custom tunes.

I'm in the same boat. I got an X4. It was unmarried/unlocked , with one custom tune for the truck the guy used it on before that is not compatible with mine. Initially, it had a message that preloaded tunes were disabled. I factory reset the device, upgraded all of the firmware, and connected to the truck. Now it had an option to change parameters for the F150. They are in the fuel octane ranges. I just got the device because I'm changing my gearing and want to be able to adjust that in the computer. Now that I have it, I'm interested in an economy tune and a towing tune for the two types of driving I do. So far looks like $135 for the custom tunes. I haven't gone that route yet. Post back if you do and see results.

Just got my tunes 2 days ago. So haven't seen any changes yet. I got an economy and a performance tune. I had the tune writer soften my shifting for the economy tune and now it shifts like a Benz!! Haven't tried the performance one yet. When you get your tunes go to 5 Star tuning and tell them you are an f-150 Forum member and they will give you a discount on the tunes. Got $40 off mine!
