LMAO

Age has nothing to do with it. I'm 42 and took my muffler out completely. FWIW it is not that loud at all in fact my last Flowmaster system was louder and far more expensive!

No need to weld at all. Don't waste your time our money. All welding does it make it far harder to change in the future and cause rust to happen faster in the welded area. I started my auto career in a muffler shop and we used to laugh at the guys that insisted upon welding up the system. It was a waste of money and always rusted at the weld.

You will note the factory does not weld, nor do any of the aftermarket systems.

You will have to upload a YouTube video and paste the link here, no other way

Funny you say that. Those clamps that he used will rust as well. When I bought my truck the PO used those cheap things and they rusted together. I had to cut them off.

You almost always have to cut them off in any rust belt area. That is normal. What you did not have is it rust through where the clamp is. Although that does happen.

However welding creates a weak zone as it changes the structure of the metal used (which has elements to resist rusting).

Welding, unless on stainless pipe using a tig and stainless rod, creates a zone that will rust through prematurely.

I've gotta be honest, I'm not worried about a little "weak zone" on my exhaust pipe. I'd rather have a rusty weld than a rusty clamp.

Also, those clamps deform the pipe.

Yeah that sounds pretty good! Itching to do an exhaust on mine. Was thinking about the mbrp 3 inch cat back.. But money wise would probably be cheaper to just have the muffler replaced with a nice tip. Itching for raptor style tip on the truck. Can't beat that sound for $35!!
