So my mechanic tells me the number 5 coil is going bad all of the coils are original except number 6 he also tells me the best coils (other than motorcraft of course) are MSD. MSD street fire coils for the 4.6 can be had at $20 a piece is it safe to replace just one for now until my funds look better in about a month or 2? And I have searched the MSD coils found no complaints but I'm open to all suggestions thanks

I don't know about that brand but if he switches just one coil and that helps your truck then save that money and finish the rest of them out.

I'm not sure about them either. I had to search for awhile to even find them.

That's what he told me when my number 6 went bad he hooked the truck up to the scanner and ran a test on the coils number six was shot and number 5 the numbers were starting to change all other coils where at 0 he told me their supposed to read 0. After he changed number 6 it went from 89-90 to 0 and my miss went away however I can feel a slight miss in it again.
