Default Motorcraft Synthetic vs Castrol

Okay guys, need some opinions. I am about to do my first (since I've owned the truck) oil change. I've always used Castrol, but wanted some opinions on the Motorcraft synthetic. Is the Motorcraft better for our trucks, or does it really matter? Also, is the 5w20 a must for these motors? I have always used Castrol 10w30, as I am in Alabama where it doesn't get extremely cold.....so I'm not worried about the cold effects.

I guess the simple question is.....would I be doing better for my truck by using the Motorcraft?

The motorcraft is actually a synthetic blend. As long as you are using the correct viscosity and the oil meets Ford's requirements, you will be fine with any oil you put in.

Motor craft synthetic blend and Mobil 1 are two top rated oils in testing I have seen.

I doubt either brand of oil will harm your engine. However I prefer a 5w over any 10w, better flow on startup. Startup is where most engine wear occurs, not while your driving.
