Im gonna prolly get flack for this but here goes.....
I found a wholesaler on ebay, sells motocraft plugs with coils for 200 bucks a whole set. I didn't have the money to go with dealer items so I figured well at least its genuine motorcraft plugs, i'll give it a shot and if the coils don't hold up, they are easy to replace. Well Its been a month and shes running like a top!

On the contrary. I replaced all my coils with a non-branded set I bought on Amazon new for $60. Everyone on this site likes to give me **** about them, but you can see in the signature I've had them for a while now and not a single problem.

So is this a typical price for all 8 plugs with coil packs, springs, and boots? I keep finding the whole set for $200 at other places on Amazon and I'm wondering why one set is only $200 and the other is $400?

Chances are that the sets that you are seeing for $200 come with Motorcraft SP515's but not Motorcraft coils. Read carefully, very misleading.

That's what I was thinking, I know motorcraft coils are more expensive, hence the $400 dollar price tag for 8 plugs and 8 COP's

So I just bought these. 8 supposed high performance plugs (claims 28,000 volts) on eBay for $38.99 including shipping from PAL. I dont have them yet.

Has anyone had any positive experience with PAL COPs?

Here is the history. In Feb 2013, I replaced all 8 plugs, 5 of which the mechanic broke off in the engine and said it was unavoidable and charged me tons to fix that. Then charged for 2 coils (not sure which). Another mechanic later on told me a trick to get them out, i.e. heating them up with a little torch action and PB blaster.

In Jan 2014 had to replace coil 5. Mechanic did it using motorcraft/dealer coil.

In Jan 2016, coil 5 bad AGAIN, I replaced it myself with a $48 coil from Oreilley.

Now # 6 is failing according to the OBD so I decided 2 things. 1, I will just replace them all NOW at the same time and 2, it doesnt seem to matter brand, they fail whether you paid $7 each or $60 each for them.

Any thoughts?

Check the brand reviews on Amazon. Also consider replacing the plugs again if you keep having to replace the coils. A bad coil can kill a plug and a bad plug can kill a coil.

Hey, I just bought those from the same seller for an offer of $300. Definitely genuine motorcraft, each individually boxed too...
