I wanted a system without relays and a factory look. Even the top part of the shroud snaps in perfectly.

But when I discovered the bulb (temp sensor) had fallen off and there was nothing i could do about it that was the last straw. The dc controller is ok at best. It never worked exactly as it should. The Painless setup is far superior. Everythings included. Plus more than enough wire.

My cost
$180 for the fans with shipping.
$209 for the controller shipped.
$45 for the radiator hose adapter shipped. (Optional)

Wasted $160 on the dc controller.
I must have been one of the few that got one of Brian's controllers at a decent wait (2 weeks). The controller and a $50.00 Mark VIII fan from a bone yard set me back under $200.00. Been running this setup now for over a year without a hitch. When I bought, his controller was the best and worth the two week wait, as his controller had the 30% start up amp draw, high speed air flow at temp that would cycle back to low when the temp fell below the adjustable probe, and high speed when AC was on, giving nice cold inside AC air at idle.

I'm guessing his back problem finally took it's toll. When I bought a controller from him a year ago, he was in and out of the hospital getting his back fused in a couple of places, and could only work one to two days a week, and that was in constant pain. It's a shame because he did make good controllers over the cheap junk that's sold over in the Ebay area.

Thanks for the excellent write up on your E-Fan install. If my controller from DC Controller ever bites the dust, I'll look into your controller setup for sure as a replacement. And your recommendation on using shrouds is key too. I'm a firm believer in that too.

I've heard about his back problem, also read other stories. Not sure what to believe. A simple statement on his website or a reply in email form stating that he is having some issues would have been great. I can completely understand and wait if someones life takes a turn that they can't do anything about medical or personal. If he is having problems I hope he gets better. There was a problem with mine from the start not operating both fans and not speeding them up past 50%. As for the shroud. I'm talking about the plastic cover up top that has the sticker on with the belt diagram and spark plug gap info pictured below. Is this what your talking about? I ask because I once read a thread (don't know if it was here or not) where some guys were duking it out over the lower shroud (mamoth piece that surrounds the stock fan). Since these fans bolt snug to the radiator this shroud is not needed nor will it fit. But the upper one does and maintains that clean factory look. I love that! No one has a clue I added fans

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. I haven't been able to find the parts for the same price as you, but it sounds like the best setup for me. Thanks for starting this thread!

just found this link; $205 free ground shipping; it was $230+ elsewhere

PM the code? First I am gonna try the salvage yard for the fans, national search. The ebay link on earlier post, I do not have a paypal and am somewhat leery of buying off ebay. Had a couple bad experiences. Thanks alot.
