Default MOTOR SWAP HELP!!! Lightning to FX4

I have a lead on a 2003 lightning motor and trans

I have a 2006 FX4 5.4 F150

I know it will not be a direct swap
But is it possible and what am I looking at needing to get/do

Any help would be much appreciated

Anything is possible... you'll need a torch to change motor mounts if they don't line up, tools, someone with know how, and beer.

Anything is possible. But you will spend way more than you are probably thinking. And time.

IIRC, the lighting was a RWD truck. So you'd either need to reuse your trans with an adapter, or swap to 2wd.

It'd be cheaper to go FI on your current truck.

The lightning motor itself is a direct drop in mechanically, but WHY? You get forged pistons, same crap connecting rods, a 2v 5.4. You can add an intercooled roush kit to your 5.4 and make more power while spending less, having less downtime, and less issues trying to make it work.

The other thing is I don't think it's going to fit and work well either. The blower's plenum won't clear the firewall. The roush blower uses a different case and plenum for the 11th gen but same blower otherwise as L. If you open your hood and look you can see the motor is tucked under the firewall, this is how the 11th gen got the extra 6" of cab room. Your trans should bolt up.

At the end of the day, it's your time and money, I just think it can be spent and used better. I doubt you can find a roush kit short order, but really if you are savy and can find the blower/plenum/manifold you can source everything else. Or for $6k you drop a whipple on your truck, skipping the roush and have room to grow. My truck is roush charged.
