Which Motor oil?

WIX or OEM filter and when NAPA has their 5-20 SYN on Sale I buy a case. It's Valovoline in a NAPA Bottle.
Actually if you have high miles and worn seals, switching to a SYN will cause leaks due to the characteristis of SYN viscosities. It's happened to me on several vehicles. Rear Main seals love to leak. Usually due to vehicles that run Dino oil and long oil change periods the oild gets dirty and gritty and wear the seals out.

Sounds like the consensus is 5w20 and a motorcraft filter? Hoping to change the oil on my new (to me) FX4 for the first time today and I keep hearing differing opinions betwen 5w20 and 5w30. From Minnesota if that helps.

If you're going to run a Fram, use the Ultra Synthetic. For the money, it's hard to beat a Motorcraft, especially if you're on a factory oil change interval. In my opinion, there's lots of bad gouge in this thread so far. Bobistheoilguy.com is your friend. Sign up, pop a top, and let your search fingers do the walking. Lots of good info there. YMMV.

I grabbed the motorcraft filter my last change. I used a fram the time before that with no issues. Reason for using the Motorcraft filter is it was the cheapest and everyone seems to recommend. 5w20 Motorcraft semisynthetic oil too. I drive so little 1 oil change per year is good for me.
