Their are the only two that make the weird plugs we need. The plugs will go 50K or longer problem. The problem is they seize in the heads and will break off. Then when you change them you only remove the top section of the plug; sometimes. This leaves a piece of plug (bottom) in the head. It kind of looks like a bullet casing. VERY cheap design plugs. The Brisk plugs are one piece design and won't come apart. I got mine from Troyer Performance give them a call extremef150. Guys you can, as you know change your plugs on your trucks when ever you want. I just want to let the people on this site know their is a problem so that if they want to they can ovoid a problem like the OP had.

blackbetty the plug is made in two (2) peices. The bottom part of the plug looks like a shell casing as in gun ammo. The top of the plug is "crimmped" into the lower portion making up the entire plug. The crimp joint is were they seperate and this section stays in the head. On regular plugs there is no "crimped" on lower section to break off. To me it's weird to make something that needs to be removed in one piece, then make it in two pieces that can and will seperate. If they could have tig welded the two sections together this probably wouldn't be a problem. extremef150 glad to here they got it out for you. Thats the way the Troyer guys get them out they mad a special EZ out fitting.

My truck is at 54k. How hard of a process is it to change the plugs myself and are their certain tools required. I would hate to mess things up.

It's not a hard job, most people are scared because with the older 5.4 you could end up breaking the top of the plugs but on these newer ones it wasn't that bad on the passenger side you have to remove the computer to get the last plug but the whole job would have took 30 to 45 mins.

But if you attempt yourself make sure you use finesse, the last thing you want is to end up with the situation I had.

So I know that I'm being a lil slow John, so basically what it sounds like what you are saying is to go with the Brisk plugs, correct?
