Mines more of a loud clicking/rattle and when I run up under the front I can put my eyes on the noise but I can't get my ear in close enough to be sure. I think it's the bearings going out in the a/c clutch or the tensioner because the noise is right in my face when looking at both of them. It's not past them like in the engine but I'll be checking them in a couple days. It's not hurting anything just annoying

If the ac clutch bearing seized up it could be a costly repair. Better to be soon to repair then later. Good thing is the bearing is under $20 and an easy reapir
