Misfire/PCM/Coil Need Help
Hey,
I'm kind of in a rush so I apologize as I am sure there have been similar threads. I have an 06 5.4 with 145,000 miles, I have a non op check engine light with a heavy misfire and when I plugged it in I got p0303, p0304, p0316, p0354. When I reset the codes I only had P0304, it shut off my check engine light for 2 minutes, put the truck in gear and took off, it all started happening again 500' down the road. I had the plugs changed about 75,000 miles ago. I am unsure what to do, I feel like I will have to replace the PCM AS WELL AS the coils? where should I start? Can I swap wires to isolate the coils/will the wires even reach since it is 3cyl and 4cyl? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

change your coil from good cylinder to misfrie cylinder.. if misfire changes cylinders then coil.. if not plug/wiring. Also sounds dumb my truck had a misfire on a cylinder couldn't chase down turned out the way i was parking when it rained was dripping water down around coil into head.

Yeah, I replaced the fuel pump module 2 years ago.... Im going to do it again, really was hoping to avoid doing the plugs, ALTHOUGH, I believe the dealership put one piece plugs in when it was done. I cant remember... Someone told me you need to replace the PCM when you replace your coil packs? is there any validity to this? And how complex is a PCM replacement (tuning?)

replace the PCM ? do your plugs and COP's.. leave the PCM alone.. just disconnect the battery before you start .. re-connect when done .. this will re-set the PCM which is AKA the ECM
