Default Mileage drop to 12 and lower

I have a 06 FX4 5.4 with 65,000 miles. The gas mileage has dropped to 12mpg and lower. I have a edge chip and usually get 15mpg and better. When I take the chip off it has a bad bog too. I changed the fuel filter, cleaned the air filter and cleaned the mas air flow sensor. Anyone else had this problem or know what I could do next. Thanks

If you find an answer let me know. I bought my 06 Lariat in September. When I picked it up from the dealer, the mpg was 14.9. Last night it was reading 10.9. and it just keeps dropping....

ya the engine has to work harder because the air is colder, the engine has a range where its most efficient

It started just before the cold weather and it wasn't this bad last winter I got around 14mpg. I was thinking about the plugs but I don't want to touch them I have heard way to many bad stories about them.

dont let the plugs scare you. just be careful and get the removal tool before you even start. that way if one breaks you have the correct tool to take care of the problem.

Yup.

I had been seeing 17-19 before winter. I am seeing anywhere from 10 (100% city) to 16-17 combined. I want winter over so I can get better MPG again lol.

Yup, get the tool, and take your time. I am probably going to do mine as soon as it warms up a bit... Just to have them done.
