on the 5.4L try to get the dealer to do a spark plug change for you. Apparently it can be a pain in the *** with the stock spark plugs. They are known to break off easily. Other than that basically everything you would look at with any vehicle.

Awesome. Per year what do ya'll think would be a far amount of mileage to buy if the service records were well kept? I know that 12k seems to be what people say is average, but what do ya'll think?

If you're willing to spend $20,000 MAX I would think mileage shouldn't be over 30,000 miles or so.

I currently have 99,000 miles on my '04 and have had NO issues with it.
Had the dealer change the infamous plugs for $300.00.

I would also stick to the 2wd 5.4.....I think "stated" mpg is only 1 mpg difference from the 4.6, but a lot more power, better driving experience and towing ability.

I'm going 4x4 and with the 5.4L and Lariat or FX4. I can't find a truck under 30k miles for less than the $20k I'm looking to spend, or even around that. The lowest I've found a Lariat or FX4 is $24k with 42k miles and that's what I'm going for. I've got my eye on an 04 with 55k on it for $16k that is a black FX4

EDGE EVO, and flowmater 40's added.

I HONESTLY AM EXCITED TO DRIVE THIS BEAST EVERY DAY!!!!

Next K&N C.A.I. 77 series, then leveling, then stereo, then it may be time for tires(rims)....When does it end????? AAArrrrggggghHHHh

Just (within the last 3 weeks) bought an 04 FX4 Screw for 14k, had 94k miles.....

obviously too soon to tell if it was a good decision....but the price seemed right for what they were going for around here.
