On my way to work when a woman in a first gen Focus turned in front of me. Now her insurance company won't take 100% fault even though she was ticketed and there was nothing I could do to avoid her. Guess I'll have to find a high priced body shop.

Thats why you have insurance too. Have your company fight hers, although different states may be different about ins laws....

No pics of her car. Her boyfriend was going nuts. I think it was more at her for panicking and stopping in the middle of the road. Took the back bumper off and bent the car so the doors wouldn't open on one side. Tail lights blew up as did the window. If the insurance company doesn't change their tune I will have to get mine involved. I'll have to deal with the deductible though and was hoping to not have to do that.

In Illinois you do pay the deductible up front in a case like this but then their ins basically reimburses you for it.

Contacting your insurance company will only cause you grief. Hers should cover it. Every time you contact your company, even a phone call, they track it. Too many inquiries will result in higher premiums for you.

Thats not true of all insurance companies.... Claims cause your rates to go up not phone calls emails etc.... This is a reason why you have certain coverages for yourself. Any reputable ins company will go to bat for you.

My experience (and agent) lead me to believe otherwise. So I disagree.

Don't mistake contacting your agent as contacting your provider. Insurance companies track everything. Including phone call inquiries. If you have a good relationship with your agent, call them, get advice, no problem.

Call your insurance company once a year and tell then you were involved in a accident and you need their help, see what happens.

Perhaps not 100%. 99%.

However my experience (and agent) lead me to believe otherwise.
