Depends on how long you plan on having it.
The money will be gone. If it's worth it to you, then do it.
Our trucks last a heckofa long time. It can handle a lift easily.

I plan on keeping my 08 and just rebuild what needs to be fixed as it ages.
So sinking 15-20k into it over time is worth it to me.

I didn't know our trucks are rare. Here's my 06 with 119k miles and I recently put a 6" rcx lift on at 117k miles.

I also have an ext cab short bed, and a friend of mine was talking about me lifting it and putting tow mirrors on it and I always thought that it would look weird because the truck is short. Defiantly post up some pictures if you do lift it!

The only thing I don't like about my truck is that the rear is 1/2" lower than the front but I'm pretty sure it's because my leafs are pretty worn down. I don't want to put bags but have been thinking about add a leaf or leaf assistant kits. I wouldn't even mind if the rear was 1/4"-1/2" higher than the front. I've posted a thread about it but any other input would be helpful.

Not really rare, just not as common as a supercrew. I see a few scab short boxes around here.
