Default Maintenance? When?

I have a 2008 F150 5.4 XLT with 66k miles on it, wondering about preventative maintenance? Suggestions?

I would change all your differential fluids. Also transmission and tranfer case. Remember your friction modifier in the rear diff. I also put a little in my front diff also. Depending on where you live, maybe a radiator flush. I would wait a little longer on the plugs and COPs if you are not having any issues. Always look up what your truck calls for fluid types. Replace with gaskets instead of the gasket maker. I also purged my power steering pump and replaced the fluid with Mercon V. I did all this for around 250 bucks and thats materials needed. Good luck!

Yes I did all this by myself which took about 2 hours to complete. The hardest thing was the front diff because of the location of the bolts on the upper part of the housing. Just dont forget the friction modifier. Add about 4 to 7 oz to the rear. I bought the castrol for limited slip diffs and added 4 oz of modifier to the rear. I added about 3 to the front. I wouldn't do a transmission flush, I would drop the pan, replace the filter then replace the tranny fluid you lost when you dropped the pan. Mine took about 5 to 6 qts. If you find a little yellow plug in the bottom of your pan dont freak out. Just throw it away. It was the plug the manufacturer used so dust wouldnt get into the transmission on the assembly line. That also means that your pan has never been dropped.

The friction modifier is only needed in LS differentials.

Limited Slip (posi) rear ends. Look at the axle code and it will tell you what you have.
