Default Hauling and towing capacities

I have an f-150 XLT super cab 4x4 with the 5.4 L V8. I was wondering where I could find info on weight carrying capacity for the bed. I need to put a lawn sprayer in the back with a weight of 1250 lbs. I am almost certain I will be adding a leaf to the springs, but do not want to overload it. I also pull a trailer, dual axle landscape weighing 2000 lbs. I will probably empty the sprayer while towing the trailer making the sprayer about 350 lbs empty. Any advice on the weight in the bed or trailering ?
Thanks,
Jim

Should have all that in your owner's manual. Did your truck come with one?

Im gonna go out on a limb and guess that your trailer is 7k gross in which case you will have no problem pulling it.

As far as the skid sprayer goes, I think you will be ok. It weighs 1250 when filled right? I have had that much weight in mulch in the back of an 8ft bed 2wd f150 w/ the V6. I would consult you manual to be sure though.

As far as springs go these are what I would recommend. I just bought them and will be installing them in my truck shortly. I too am a landscaper and am looking to pull a trailer.

If you want good load stabilization with all that sloshy water then I'd go with airbags. Should give you the most adjustable suspension control and sag.

You'll definitely be ok. I've had more than a pallet of sod in the bed and two in the trailer, no problem. I have an 06 4x4 with the 4.6, so you should be fine. Would be good to have either an adjustable hitch or multiple hitches so you can keep the trailer somewhere close to level. In the long run, go for the firestone airbag system for the rear axle - about $250 - fully adjustable airbags sit on the rear axle to support and level up to 5000 pounds extra payload. I have been looking to get this set up for a year or two now, just havent gotten to it yet. Good luck and stay safe.

I pull a 6x10 enclosed trailer with a 275 gal tank and all my supplies for my detailing business. I dont fill the tank up because its not baffled and it sloshes so bad when stopping that I feel like the truck is going to slide forward. I have carried between 100 and 150 gals. before with no problem. the rear barely dropped when I set the trailer on it. you wont be overloading it
