Lower Strut Bolt Question
I was removing the leveling kit that was on my truck (2007 4x4) when bought it and I'm pretty sure I cross threaded one of the lower strut bolts using an impact. I've searched and can't find the specs on that bolt or a good place to buy a direct replacement. The diagrams on the ford parts websites aren't exactly clear to me. I know the bolt head is 1-1/16" but I'm not sure about the length or threads. I got the old one torqued but I want to get a new one and replace it. Any body have any information or links? Thanks.

Call your local dealership and tell them what you need. Gonna be the easiest way... That size bolt is unlikely to just be laying around at a hardware store and if they order one, your likely going to have to buy the whole box.
How did you cross thread a nut that big? Did you not start it by hand for a couple threads first?

There's always the scrap yard. Probably cost you a whole dollar for that nut and bolt. Maybe 2

Not sure if it's actually cross threaded but I think the threads are damaged from trying to get the bolt out when removing the strut. The spacer that was installed made it really difficult to remove the struts. I could just tell when I reinstalled that after starting the nut by hand that it only went so far before it got caught. I used my impact to finish tightening. The other side threaded on nicely.
Thanks for the info. I'll just talk to my dealer.

scrap yard for sure
Clean threads always . Use Anti-Seize, start all stuff with your fingers . If it doesn't feel right don't power on - remove and re-seat . That goes double for sparkplugs . If you are cold country ,salt exposed then you really need to wire brush clean threads . Get your self a can of nickel Anti-Seize .
You may be back on same nut doing another job next year . All my lug nuts come off easy .
I just had to drill out stud on wheel for stepson with fancy rims, took 4 different size drill bits .Some cussing is required as well as a good torque wrench too .
Torque those lug nuts on to not warp rotor .
