Default 5.4 3v grinding when running

I went against the advice of my brother and replaced both heads on my flex 5.4 3v. I primed and started the truck no problems. But once I started out my driveway it started to make a grinding noise. So I parked and pulled the front cover. I didn't see any obvious issues there.
.do you think I've possibly spun a bearing or something. The motor isn't knocking as much as it is grinding. I originally suspected that the chains were rubbing the timing sprocket but after inspection I found no damage. Any ideas? 2007 5.4 3v flex XLT 4x4 240,000

Could be the flex plate everyone talks about?
I never fooled with a flex plate yet.
It would make a grinding sound.
Could you record the sound? Might help.

Is the grinding noise only when the truck is in motion? Does the grinding occur with the truck running in Park?

cant hear any noise when rotating manually or when starting, but once running motor has a grinding gear sound. one might think the flex plate or the timing sprocket. apon inspection i see no damage to teeth.
