Default Low oil pressure?

Does anybody know how to fix this problem? The runs great and the oil level is good. It only shows up when I turn the truck over to start. Any info would be awesome. Thanks

See if the guage cluster is working properly. Hold setup and reset and turn the ignition on, Wait like 3 seconds and it should say test. Then push i think setup again to select sweep guages. Whichever button selects the option, reset just goes through more. Could be a oil pressure relay sending unit or something

I would replace the sending unit. I would assume the low oil pressure indicator works the same as the "dummy" gauges that Ford uses.

No need to drain the oil. Have the new one ready to thread in when you pull out the old one. Should be minimal (if any) oil loss.

Ok so I replaced the oil pressure sending unit, but I still have the same problem. Any other ideas what it could be?

It only comes on when you start the engine and its running? Or when you turn the key but do not actually start it?
If it comes on while the engine is running and you have replaced the sending unit, do this:

Take it to a good mechanic. He will have a pressure gauge he can install temporarily. He can look up the permissible oil pressure range and tell you if you have a problem.

I have the same issue on my 08. There are a few posts on this site and others regarding this. Concensus was that if you have good, consistent pressure once the engine starts, you're ok. Smarter guys than me will chime in, I hope. Also, on my truck, the 'low pressure' only comes on if I have my seatbelt on. No seatbelt connected, no low oil pressure. LOL. Good luck!

My truck is a 2006. it only appears for a second when you crank it up and then goes away.
