When I first start mine up the exhaust note is louder than normal but then it goes down to normal in like 20 seconds just thought that's how the truck is. Kinda like the sound when I start it up though

I too have a new engine - installed last year, now has 20k on it. Please keep me posted with what they find.

the thing is, its not just exhaust sound. Its that "tick, tick, tick" mixed in with the exahust and I can hear it coming out of the exhuast pipe. I at first thought leaking manifold, but now feel like something internal.

Im at a loss...

X40oz pop your hood, get close to the engine and get someone to barely press the gas. I personally thought the sound was the exhaust and it's been 4 months and now off to FORD tomorrow.

Just spent labor day weekend replacing passenger side exhaust manifold on my 06 5.4l SCREW. Got to say its nice to be done with. The job was bigger than I ever imagined. This Forum and online videos helped a lot. Sure hope I don't have to do that again.
