Default loud exhuast noise on cold start

Can anyone listen to this video and tell me what causes this? It seems to smooth out after the truck warms up, but I do still hear the "not smooth" sound in the exhaust while on the road and after it warms up.

I could not upload to Youtube so I posted in my Google Drive. May have to DL the video.

I hear the ticking and I have the same problem and can't find it but I can hear it in the exhaust. Mine only does it when I'm on the road and accelerating. I hope someone knows why that is cause mine has been doing it for about 4 months.

It really takes away from what would be a clean sounding exhaust on my truck.

When do you mainly hear it because I can't hear mine when I'm parked and hit the gas but I have to find it before I find myself at my mechanic ?

Mine does it parked on cold start and on the road under acceleration, but I can throw into nutral while going down the road and rev and not hear it. I was thinking manifold, but wouldnt it do it all the time?

I took a guy from the muffler shop for a ride and he said that was normal, but I know its not. I have heard many friends trucks with clean exhaust no "diesel tick" on top of clean exhaust.

Mine does this sometimes on startup and then smooths out and goes away just like yours. Although, mine isn't quite as noticeable as yours is. Doesn't bother me at all. From what I understand this is kinda normal for our trucks.

Well my truck will be going to FORD tomorrow morning. The noise is coming from the front of the engine. Either the VCTs and/or cam phasers, etc. I don't know the inside of engines or I would fix it myself plus I had a new engine installed back in 2012 and it's under warranty. So I will post after I get her back. I dread the moment when I leave her at FORD for god knows how long. 😔
