I should probably add that if I knew what a pain in the *** it would be to be stuck under that truck for hours with tranny fluid dripping on my face while performing double jointed wrist tricks to disassemble the shift linkage while simultaneously holding up the valve assembly in the other hand that I may very well have just forked over the 1200 for a rebuild..

I was told it was the od band at a tranny shop and needs a rebuild. but isnt od band part of 2nd gear band the 2-4 band?? because i have put 3500 miles on my truck since losing overdrive and my truck is fine minus OD. nothing in the pan fluid is clean..just when i start my truck i have to turn OD off . makes me think its electronic. i was also told that most tranny shops wont quick fix cause the customer from that point will try to assume responsibility to the tranny shop if it dont last??
