Default Looking into bigger tires...?

I currently am running 275/65 18 on my 2005 F-150 Extended Cab. I am soon installing a 2 1/2 leveling kit and would like to put a bigger tire on once I run out the ones im wearing. Any suggestions on what looks good but that wont completely ruin my gas mileage. I also do a fair amount of towing, as my wife and I have horses and sometimes tow a horse trailer.

If anyone has pictures of what the truck would look like with the larger tires that would be great.

Thanks for the advice.

Check the pictures in my album. The 2.5 inch kit will level the truck. Now when you hook up a trailer or haul a heavy load the rear will sit lower than the front. You might consider overload springs or airsprings for the rear so it won't sit too low.

Thanks, your truck looks tons better with that leveling kit. what size tires are you running? Is that an 18 or 17 inch wheel?

Do you know how expensive overload springs or airsprings are running and how difficult are those to install do you know?

That looks awesome how did it effect your gas mileage going to a 35" tire? Im thinking probably 33" and get them a little wider then the ones I have now.

I run this truck 100 miles a day on my work commute and get 16-18 mpg. Stop and go city driving about 13-14mpg due to the heavy weight of the tires starting and stopping them. Not bad at all on the highway.

Look into the 285x65x18 BFG AT's, close to 33 inches tall and will fit great on the stock wheels. Nitto makes this size also.

Awesome thanks for the advice, is this tire just a bit taller then the ones I have on now or will they look quite a bit larger? I have 275/65 18 BFG now.

The 285x65x18 is about an inch taller than the stocker's. These are LT tires and may ride a little rougher than the stocker's but will last 50-60k miles easy and are better for towing. Check out the BFG,Nitto and Toyo web sites.
