Looking to buy an F150
Hello all. I am new to this forum and traditionally a GM guy but I really like the F150. I am looking at an Used 07 F150 and it looks like it is raised somehow. I am completely new to the methods of raising trucks and the salesmen had no idea what kind of lift this truck has. I do know that It has Nitto Terra Grappler 325/65r18 tires on it which are about 35 inches in diameter. I have fallen in love with the way this truck looks and I need to know what has been done to it before I buy it. Could that lift have been achieved with a leveling kit and body lift? here are pictures of the truck. Thanks

Well first off, thats not an 07. Its an 04 or 05, they changed the square fogs in 06 to circle, and that one has square. From where the bull bar is mounted, i can tell it has a body lift, and some other small things done like FX2 headlights, custom work on the grill w/ lights, bull bar, exhaust. But the big thing is thats not an 07 truck, one from the bumper and two, an 07 FX4 with the 5.4 and probably nice inside wont be $17k

Another point: while the "curb appeal" gets the heart throbbing, don't forget the mechanicals. Once your hooked on a trucks outside apearance, make sure the mechanicals are in good order. Too many of us have gotten hooked with the stance/look, only to get burned with something mechanical. If your knowhow is limited, have a professional check it out. Paying one to check over the vehicle can save you a bunch of cash in the long run.
A broken down truck can still look good in the driveway I suppose, but it looks a whole lot better with you driving it down the road!
It's a nice looking 04-05 though. Too bad the sales person is unaware of it's true age. They seemed to have lost a sale over this issue. That front grill with the inclosed headlights is not a cheap item; someone invested a few bucks into this truck...wmakes you wonder why they sold it/traded it in?

I wouldn't let a stupid salesman bum you out. Go back and check out the truck, crawl under it and have a look. I automatically assume that the salesguys don't know anything. I go with my own info and it helps.
Get the VIN number... is it possible that there was an accident / reason to swap bumpers?
I can't tell from the pictures, but I am inclined to believe it is a body lift as Fsufan09 says.
Further more, I don't know where you are located but if it is an 04-05 FX4, that seems about $1000 lower than it should, pending mileage. Also if it is somehow an 07 with the older bumper, it definitely should be a little bit more than that. Especially if the interior is nice.
However, assuming 04-05, and decent mechanicals, that is a good looking truck, and a pretty good deal IMO.
