If there is an O2 sensor AFTER the CAT then that O2 sensor reports to the computer if the engine is running lean or rich and the computer either dumps more fuel or restricts fuel accordingly. The CATs super heat the exhaust fumes to burn any unburnt fuel. Our engines are designed to run the best WITH the emissions equipment and removing them without knowing WTF your doing will make your truck run like crap.

A lot of people think EGR systems are bad and want to delete them when really if you look into and understand how it works and makes your vehicle more fuel efficient you wouldn't have it any other way.

Yeah I wouldn't delete the EGR system. Does our trucks have 2 or 4 o2 sensors? From my understanding the pre cat sensors are the only ones you really need to make sure your truck is running right.

Mine had four. I actually did remove the last two, so I may sound like a hypocrite. But id say at least get hi flo cats to keep it legal. There's a whole thread on here about the backpressure myth and scavenging effect. I just need to find it...

Mine ran fine. Didn't have rear o2 sensors. Even now with my new exhaust I only have two high flo cats and it runs like a bat outta hell

X2!

If you get a custom tune to ignore the CEL and lean/rich condition you will not have a mileage effect (besides what the tune will effect)

And as far as running cats, yes you should, but there are so many cars/trucks that don't have them. I wouldn't worry about the law, its more or less your conciseness

I think that for the price the OBX kit with y pipe is a good value. I believe they are dynatech knockoffs.. I'm going to be picking up a set this fall, and I will be cutting the resonators off of their off road y pipe. I'm gonna weld in my own high flow cats and likely buy some OEM gaskets for the install.. I will try to take as many pics of the agony I will likely face during the install.......I've already got a custom set of PHP tunes written up that should accommodate long tubes.

As for the EGR deletes, they are a waste. Unless your doing it on a diesel motor... A DPF delete, and an EGR delete on a diesel motor are 2 very popular and worthwhile mods. Both will require a tune, and both are pretty much illegal.

Yes, these engines were designed to run with all the emissions crap, the cats now days aren't that bad..... But EGR's and PCV systems hurt performance and life span of ALL engines.... When I do longtubes on my truck, egr delete and a catch can will be added with it.

I will have to look into that. I was planning on getting some pacesetters off auto anything with my $100 off but this sounds like a better deal.
