So I got a long trip coming up from norcal to NM in july and I think it'll roughly be about 2500 miles er so. My truck will have a Bakflip f1 bedcover on it as well as its a supercrew 5.4 most of the maintenance is up to date like oil, oil filter, air filter, new tires, new plugs. I'm trying to think of what I else I should do to get ready for the trip. Any ideas or suggestions on what else I should probably do would be very helpful. I have 93k miles right now
Or even extra parts or things I should take along just in case

Are you sure? I feel like I should replace the tranny fluid or differentials soon er something or brakes as well. I'm the second owner and got her at 88k so I'm just a little anxious about how much I should do and how much I can guesstimate a price at

Check your fuel pump module, change the fuel filter, change the Trans.fluid(syntheic), at least one bottle of seafoam run through a tank gas. Air filter change it for a K&N.
Check your gas mileage along the way. If you don't run it hard you should be close to 18mpg along the way. +-$650 for the trip.

I got 295/70 nitto Terra's so I don't think I'll get 18 but 16-17 ha thanks for the help. What about differential fluid or brakes or some spare parts er something like that? Just trying to make sure everything is good to go. I always carry a great socket set and misc tools in my bed box.

i would just change the fuel filter, really simple to do.... and as long as everything else is up to date, you will be fine!! Lol i take my truck on trips all the time!!! its an 08 5.4 screw with 133K and i wouldnt bat an eye taking it on a 5000 mile trip..... as long as you are up to date with your maintance you should be fine.. heck , even for precautions if you want, change your oil, oil filter, air filter, and make sure your transmission is good on fluid right before your trip!!! and tranny filter and oil is simple to do if you feel as if it is needed, but, i dont see 2500 miles hurting anything if your fluids are good.. and if you think your brakes are bad, change em, lol i just changed mine with oem brakes, like $25 for the front $34 for the back set, less than an hour.. simple change...best of luck
