I have done this numerous times, buy from this ebay seller and paint your existing emblem whatever background you want. Then install these over it and clearcoat. I have even went as far to sand the raised Ford script down smooth. Order the 8"x3" for a 9" oval and the 6"x2.25" for a 7" Oval:
