Default Locking vehicle while its running

So before winter hits I was wondering if there was a way to make the truck lock all doors while its running. Ive tried it before but the drivers door always unlocks. Id like to be able to warm the truck up without worrying about it getting stolen.

You can do it if you have the keypad installed.

if you have the key pad on the door you can lock all of them with that, it wont lock all the doors if you hit the button inside.

I have a '08 Screw with a keypad and remote start. I usually leave the key in and truck started, then exit the truck and with the fob just lock the doors. Works the same way with my Super Duty. IDK if it has something to do with the remote start, but I do recall before having the remote start installed on the Super Duty that if the key was in the ignition you could not lock the doors, now mind you this was with the truck not running. Just my observations...........
