Default Locking gas cap?

My son is taking my 2006 F150 XL V6 off to college this year. I want to discourage anyone from tampering with the gas. I know people can just punch a hole and steal the gas. I am more worried about kids dumping something into the gas tank.
I think the locking gas cap would discurage most kids but not gas stealers. Is there a locking door that I could add to the truck?

I talked to many Ford dealers and I think I need Motorcraft FC-10056 locking gas cap. Can anyone confirm that? Does any one have insight where to but it if I go that route?

I just want to keep stupid college kids from dumping anything into the gas.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks
Russ

I just did a quick Google search with the info you supplied. Quickly I saw that you can get one from Amazon for $26 and some change.

Just go to a local part store (Advance, Oreilly, Autozone).

Oreilly Auto carries both the Motorcraft and a cheaper Murray branded locking gas caps that match a 2006 F150.

Locking gas caps can become a pain, for whatever reason they have a tendency to leak more then factory caps. I have seen lots of check engine lights coming back to the cap being a leaker. You can install a locking gas door and save yourself the potential headache. But as always its just my 2 cents. Plus the gas doors can be had in black or chrome and they look cool.

Autoanything.com

AMI and Bully brands, both around $60 for locking versions.

Check for promo codes, there are always some around for autoanything.

Does anyone have a brand they think is better for these gs doors?

How do these install? I can't seem to find instructions on any of the web pages.

I am trying to decide which would be better, lock gas cap or the locking door. I am a little worried about the door becuase of the weather I live in. In Ohio we get ice/snow. I don't want to have this door freeze and not be about to get it open to get fuel.

Keep the information coming. This hqas been very helpful.

Thanks
Russ
