Default Lockers or posi?

08 F150 2WD 3.55 gears. I want to regear for 305/45/22 tires and rims to have more power off the line. Im gonna go with 4.56 or 4.88, but what carrier do you guys suggest to get the most power to the ground all the time a Detroit locker or posi? TIA

most people will tell that a posi is better for the street but the locker will get the power to the ground much better and doesnt wear out like the posi. i have a locker in my truck with 4.88s and its my daily driver. if i punch it hard from a dead stop and turn right away (like when your making a right turn at a red light) the locker will engage and you can hear one tire drag but if your light on the throttle around tight turns youll be fine with a locker.

Are you 2WD as well? Not much of a difference when its on the street between 2WD and 4WD anyway, just curioous what is the norm in the two by world. I prefer lockers myself and I know better than two try any crazy turns with it engaged, sounds cool but doesnt always look cool when things go bad.........

mine is 2wd. without the help of 4wd, you need to make sure both rear tires are spinning because they are the only ones putting power down.

Have you considered looking in to the Detroit Truetrac or Torsen T2? I had the factory installed Torsen T2 in my 2004 Ranger FX4 Level II and it performed well both on and off road.

posi is nothing more than chevy's name for their limited slip. You can always double pack your OEM Traction Lok and maintain easy servicing on the diff.

that assumes he has a oem track lock. if you have an open diff i wouldnt buy an oem and double pack it. might as well use that money towards something aftermarket.

skidmark, ive never heard that one, pretty funny.
