Default Little more tire.

I had posted in the past about getting bigger tires on my truck, although i forgot to ask a question that i read in another post. My 2006 F150 has the 4.6L V8 and 3.55 gears and 255/65/17 tires. If i go up to a 275/70/17 tire i wont have to re-gear to 3.73 gears will I? Cause i dont want to have to do that. I like my low rpms while cruising down the highway.

Re-gearing for that small of a tire size change would not be necessary. You will notice a slight drop in power but not enough to re-gear.

when you regear you will get higher RPM's on highway. if you go a bigger tire your RPM's will drop a little.

Ok good, im not worried about a slight drop in power. I dont pull anything real heavy anyways. I just didnt want anything to stress with the bigger tires. thanks guys.

I doubt you'd be able to tell any difference in the seat of your pants at all with that size tire.

You won't need to regear until you add 35's or larger.
