I try every once in a while, end up getting stuck half way and then switch to 4x. 2x trucks are great in moderate climates, but around here they get parked most the winter.
i can respect that. i havent used my truck in icy/snowy conditions so i couldnt honestly say how it would fair. I do know that in the Texas Gumbo Clay/dirt/sand/mud I havent had a problem yet. We might be moderate climate in Texas, but our conditions are far from moderate. Thanks for the info on 2x in snow though... been wantin to take mine back home to chicago one winter just to play in it. lol.

Well I bought my truck june of 09 with 11000 miles on it at a ford dealership. A 75 year old man traded it in on a brand new truck. It now has 27000 miles on it. I guess I need to know how do you tell if you burnt up the ls and is it common with mostly highway miles and not towing anything to burn one up with only 27000 mile on it. I promise I have a ls its just too unreliable. I will agree its better to have one then not. But I still wouldn't waste the money or time to have a factory ls just to be let down when you really need it. I need something reliable that's why I bought a ford.

To be fair, my driveway is north facing at 8,500' in the mountains so it's a rather extreme comparison. 20 miles down the road in Boulder/Denver you'd be fine with 2wd and the Auburn for 90% of the winter with some sandbags and snow tires.
