lights staying on not the door switch.....
Hi guys and gals, i have a 2006 f150 and last few months iv been having a issue with the interior lights /cargo light randomly coming on while driving or staying on after truck is off and locked. i do not get a door ajar light and i have tried the wd 40 fix anyways. its not the door swtiches. so what else could it be? what else controls them. if the lights are stuck on only way to get them to go out is unlock the truck put key in ignition and on/off then it will go out once i lock it . everything works on the truck except the lcd that displays mileage does not light up at night anymore. but does work during the day. that has been out for years so i dont think thats it. helpppp i hate going to the dealer lol

Hey man you can replace your odometer bulb in about 10 min. Just have to pull up on the dash above the gauges. Best to search on here first for the thread "odometer fix". I drove for a year thinking it was a dealer only repair.

SOLVED! (I think)
I took out the dimmer switch today, opened it up, but couldn't see anything wrong with it. So I plugged it back in a tried to replicate the problem. I found that if I wiggled the pigtail in the plug, the interior lights would turn on! I tried moving the dimmer wheel at the same time, and it didn't really make a difference. So, a new dimmer switch wouldn't have solved the problem - or maybe just for a couple days as Hot00frb experienced.
So, I put it all back together, but before I popped the assembly back into the dash I used some electrical tape and taped up the connection between the switch and the pigtail. So far so good. I'll update if this changes.
