Lights blinking after truck is turned off (Help!)
My son had a weird electrical problem with his 2005 f150 last night.
When he got home and turned the truck off the headlights, taillights, 4-way flashers and dash panel lights started blinking (almost as if the hazard lights were on). Even with the headlight switch turned to the off position and the keys out of the ignition.
I put the headlight switch in the Auto position and cycled the key in and out. It stopped for a second and then started flashing again.
We tried everything we could including all positions of the headlight switch, cycling the hazard light switch and varying postions of the ignition switch. All to no avail.
Ended up just disconnecting the battery for the night
I've never seen this before and don't know where to begin troubleshooting.
Any help would be most appreciated...thanks in advance.

Yea on an older expedition I had, when the battery was going low the horn would start blowing. Naturally it was always in the middle of the night in the winter, when it would wake the neighbors before I could get dressed and go disconnect the battery. Fords do some funky stuff.

I have the same thing sort of, when I turn my truck of (only sometimes) the right headlight flashes when it's in the auto or on position but then I turn the lights off and on and it stops.

I agree with the others, the electrical can be funny with a weak battery.
Another thought though, any clicking noises when that happens? Do you know of a remote start and/or alarm added? If so, it'll be under the dash. Typically it won't hook to the headlights but an installer may have made the mistake. If the hazard lights are showing the arrows, then it's not as likely this but it's a thought.
