lights behind the grill for cheap...w/pics
im not sure what everyone else is spending on their lights mounted behind the grill but when i looked around at some of the big name brands they were pretty pricey. i decided to try to do it on the cheap.
i got the steel from home depot for $10, the light housings were another $10, i paid about $10 for assorted wires, relays and a switch, and the HID kit was $50 off ebay. So in total i spent $80
despite the last pic, the head lights and the "fog" lights are both 6000k in color. the housing arent that great but i can upgrade later when money is better. if $50 sounds like the HIDs will be junk im not worried they have a 1 year warrenty. one of the bulbs was burnt out when i got the kit but the ebay seller replaced it immediately no questions asked. the "fogs" are wired up so that they can never be switched on when the head lights are off. this ensures that when i shut off my head lights, the fogs go off as well and can accidently be switched on during the day and drain my battery when im at work. because they are on a switch i can run with just the head lights if thats all i need. the second switch you see is just preperation for train horns down the road some time soon i hope. with only $80 out of pocket for the whole thing i pretty happy

thanks but not really. the steel was predrilled and had the 90* bend that runs the length of it. i just used a chop saw to cut it in certain places so it could be bent. mounts in three places to the truck using pre existing screws
