@ Summers22 and MGD - I didnt actually know that the output would be lower I took a look at the retrofitted stuff and it seems so expensive alot more than I was planning on spending. While I am pretty good at the handy work I am not sure I want to take on the challenge myself as I have never done anything like this before. I will contact one of the guys though and see how busy they are and what they could do for me thanks!
RustyCJ - I am not the biggest fan of the tail lights but was looking for something that would give that extra little aftermarket look. But sadly there are no good looking flareside tail lights so i might have to stick with mine. Perhaps changing out the bulbs or something will make it a bit better. I thought about painting as well but the truck is silver and the light is chrome so it blends pretty well already
NamedHerOksana - I like the look you have going in the front and the back (@MGD again I wouldnt say I set out for the Ricey look but I like the halos). What kind of halo fog lights do you have? the Spyders? How are the light output on those? I like your tail lights but sadly there is nothing like that for me with the Flare as your is Straight

Thanks for the help so far!

The fog lights are Spec-d (same with my headlights) and the halos are pretty bright, but super dim in the day cause of the tinted lens.
For light output, they're complete crap, mostly because I haven't replaced the bulb in them. I have no reason to as I never use them anyways, but eventually I'm gonna probably stick some HIDs in there.

hmm okay I am following your HID retrofit now so I cannot wait to see how that turns out for you!

The place I can buy the lights from offer a HID package as well and they use one of the three packages does anyone have input on these? I know very little about the HID market

Or am I better off sticking to TRS and ordering a kit from them if I want to go HID.

I'd stick with TRS, Morimoto is definitely the best way to go. These other Chinese companies don't make the best products.

To the OP,
I have a set of head lights like the one in your original post and I hate them. They came with the truck when I bought it and the light output os so bad that I have come to the point that I won't take my truck out if I will be driving in the dark. I have a guy on the text here making me a proper retrofit set and that's what I would recommend. I drive an identical truck to mine for work and the stock headlights are like daylight compared to what I have on my personal truck.

Interesting so perhaps I shouldnt go with these lights and just fork out the money for a proper retrofit.... I guess that brings the question of retrofitting these lights or OEM retrofit by someone on here hmmm.

Thanks for your help everyone I think I know what needs to be done now perhaps just one more question. Can you retrofit tail lights?

Hi.

Retrofit either one (I see that you saw the Spec-D retrofit thread) - OEM preferred due to housing quality.

As for tails - yes indeed, you can, What folks typically do is build LED arrays powered by regulated supplies and PWM for intensity control.

See the LED forums at HIDplanet.com

good luck

Hey guys.
I've been searching for several hours now and can't find the answer so I'll have to ask. :-)
Can someone please tell me the diameter of the fog lights on the 2008. I can across similar fog lights as pictured here and I am hoping they will fit in my 2012.
My bumper cutout is apx. 5" and my stock light is apx. 4.5".
Thanks guys.

Black lights on a silver truck look AMAZING.

Also, I have those halo fog lights. I suggest getting the set from Spyder. Spec-d and winjet put really cheap halos in their lights.
I have the same tails and third lights as you. I love them I have spyder version 2 smoked headlights tho the light output isn't that bad compared to others but I'm sure it's no where near a retrofit
