So, the deal didnt work out. Sucks too cause I already spent $250 for a train ticket and hotel for tomorrow. The guy claims it was wrecked today, but Im not buying it. He either decided to keep it or found someone to purchase it for the full price. He seemed like a stand up guy, so Im not %100 what really happened. The following is what he wrote to me:

Hi Matt,
> Sorry for the late response. My son had surgery this morning and I was at the hospital all day today. To top things off I have some really bad news. Yesterday after I got off work I took the truck to the car wash to detail it one last time. On my way home from the car wash a young girl bumped into the back of me. She didn't hit me hard but hard enough to dent the rear bumper which is now slightly pushed into the left rear quarter panel. Unfortunately the rear quarter panel now also has a small crease in it. I'm totally furious right now as not only do I loose out on your sale but I have to now sell my truck as wrecked. I just dropped it off at my local body shot and wont get it back for at least a week. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you and your family. Once I get the truck back from being fixed I will repost the add. But for now I will not be able to sell the truck.

If the truck really was wrecked wouldnt the seller still try to work a deal out with me? Thats what I would do atleast.

Yea doesn't sound right, If it got wrecked and was only bumper damage I don't know anybody who would stop a pretty much 100% sell to spend their own money to go get it fixed to sell for the same price. Your probably right about him finding somebody who will pay a little more then you offered.

Ya if it was me I would first try to sell the truck with the damage for the same price, then if the buyer wasnt willing id start dropping the price. Just canceled my train tickets, so I only lost $60 on my pricline hotel that I cant cancel.

Not to upset about it though, if its not meant to be its not meant to be.

Found a 2012 f150, 4 door, loaded with 14,000 miles, 6" lift and 35's for $35,000. So I may go that route instead

I don't think that will fit in a standard garage... I have a Rancho 4 and i'm about 1 1/2 from hitting the top.... Your best bet is to THOROUGHLY check the truck out... The body always looks clean until you get it home.... Nice truck... Looks like i've seen it somewhere before but just can't remember where....

He may not have sold it. He knew you were coming with the 18K and after thinking about it a while probably figured he should hold out for more. Regardless, the guy's a puss nonetheless...unless, of course, he's telling the truth. I doubt it.

Unless that girl was also driving a truck, her windshield must be in pretty bad shape.
