Default License plate placement

I'm thinking of getting two small 4" LED lights and mounting them to my bull bar. Only downside is since I live in Texas, they require a license plate for the front and back so it gets in the way of where my holes are that I would mount the lights. Anyone ever run into this issue or have an idea of where I could relocate my plates to make room for the lights?

Is there enough room for the lights to fit if you left the plate in place and just drilled some new mounting holes over to the side a little?

No, I figured middle of the light would be two inches but from the middle of hole to the side of the license plate is only an inch.

What about attaching the plate to the lower part of the bull bar? Where the skid plate portion is?

Gotcha, that may make it look cramped even if it did fit!

I live in Texas and have a lightbar on my bull bar so I had the same problem. I just clipped my license plate to my passenger sun visor and fold it down when I need it. No cop has stopped me because my front plate isn't visible.

Do they really pull people over for that? It is the law in Vegas to but maybe 15% of people have it on there cars. I have never had it on any of my cars. How much do they inforce it?

Like other issues such as window tint, tinted taillights, and others, it will depend on the police officers time or mood I'd guess. Seems they have other pressing matters to tend with, so unless you get one that has a bit of free time, or your vehicle simply "stands out" from a crowd, you may go unnoticed for a long time, or never get pulled.

What about a "hidden front license bracket"? On a Mustang forum I frequent, the owners there buy and use an electronically retractable front license plate holder/bracket; with a switch on the dash, you can lower (expose) the plate, or flip it horizontal under the bumper to hide it. The Mustang (and other vehicle ownwers I'm sure) don't want to put the ugly screw holes in their front bumper, so they install these instead. Might work for you as well.

Something like this:
