New here and my first post. Have gathered much great info from many read posts. I'm looking to put a 2 inch leveling lift on my 2005 F-150 King ranch. I have seen many posts where guys have done this, however i'm looking to see if you were happy with this once you did this. Some questions I have are;

1. How did this effect your towing?

2. How did this effect your mileage

3. How did this effect your power, if at all.

4. Were you glad yo u did this mod or wish afterword that you had not done it?




I will be editing my info on my truck soon to get all the stuff posted that it has. Still a work in progress.

did not effect towing mileage or power. if I had it to do over I would go with the 2 inch blocks like u plan to. I went 2.5 and the upper control arms come close to the springs and can touch when fully extended

I'm in the same boat right . And not to hijack your post. But I measured all my ground to top center of the wheel wells. And don't know what to get. It would be hell bent steel. Steel leveling kit. For 2005 f150 xlt.

Measurements:
Drivers side front: 36 inches
Passenger side front: 37 inches
Drivers side rear: 39 inches
Passenger side rear: 39 inches

Should I go with 2" or 2.5" I DONT want the nose high look either.

And from what I heard, don't go over 3 inches it could break ****. Or have too much tension on stuff.

In all honesty, I'm looking at either the Bilstein 5100s or Pro Comp Pro Runner SS Ride Height Adjustable struts. They both get about 2" of height in the front, and you can run (close to) 34" tires. With that said, I've heard that the billet leveling kits from HBS are fantastic. A 2.5" kit is going to be the max you should go. It still puts the angles in a weird position, but it will still do less damage than a 3".

I've never heard of anyone regretting a level. BUT I know that when they get a level on, they look for MORE height and end up going with a 4" or 6" lift.

I put a 2.5 leveling kit on my 07 2WD Lariat and LOVE IT... not one regret. Noticed no difference in power, towing, handling, etc but it did give it a better stance and made it look better.

For what it is worth I often towed a 4500-6000 lb travel traler w/load distributing hitch.

Thanks for the reply's , I'm thinking the HBS 2" is the way to go. I'm not going to get radical but I think that will level things out and look sharp.

For sure! You'll look really sharp with that 2". What wheel/tire set up are you looking for?

Get 2.5... It levels perfectly (or did on my truck) and if you decide you want to put bigger tires you have less of a chance of rubbing.

I love the Rancho Leveling Struts I put on my 2004 f-150 Lariat Supercrew. They are adjustable for Off Road and street use and made a huge difference in the ride quality of my truck. It lifted the Front end just enough to make it level. I got a great deal on them on Amazon. An round $130. Each I think.

I did the HBS 2.5". Really easy install. Makes the truck look so much better. No regrets at all. As for towing, it will make your truck look like it is sagging when hauling anything heavy. The level is getting rid of the factory rake, which is there for that very reason. Pulling a loaded trailer at night makes oncoming drivers a little angry, due to my headlights blinding them.
If I did any more towing than I do right now, I would throw a set of airbags in the back to help.
