I've got an 04 FX4 5.4 with 275/65/18s and have been looking at every leveling kit known to man. Lots of folks installing the coil spring spacer but I haven't read a post that has anything to do with either Rancho's Quicklift adjustable ride shock or Bilstein's 5100 series adjust lift shock.
The Rancho folks say their product will provide 2.5" of lift and clear 35's on specific backspaced rims. The Bilstein product is adjustable from 0-2". I'll most likely only go to a 33" tire but I need to get the front up in the air before ice fishing time.
I'm looking for a little feedback from someone that has either of these products installed.

I did find a few posts about the Rancho Quicklift but nothing specific on the Bilsteins other than there is a rather high opinion about them. There is a possibility that I would put in a 4-6 inch lift in a year or two and the fact that the Bilsteins are adjustable is making them look like a better choice. Still would appreciate any comments or advise.

I haven't heard anything about either one. I went with the spacer that you were talking about and I am very happy with it. When I was asking around about the best option for leveling the spacer is what everyone around here recommended. What are the pluses of the shocks? Do you have to replace them? How much do they cost?

i went with a daystar leveling spacer and i love it,i didnt want to compress the coil and install spacers,just didnt think the ride would be the same and i am sure it wouldnt be.never heard any feedback from the 2 you mentioned,but both companys have good research and reveiws in general.

The truck has over 80k miles and I just replaced the rear shocks with the best ones I could get at Napa. Not sure that the fronts are bad but they can't last forever. Just thought I'd kill two birds with one stone and get shocks that are better than stock units. The one thing I'm concerned about is that the Bilsteins are an "offroad shock", so I was wondering if they have a stiff ride. I wouldn't mind a bit more firmness but not so much that it makes a choppy street ride. Maybe stock shocks and a spacer is the way to go?? Thanks for the feedback.
