yes. Im not sure on the 04-08 but on the 09+ there is no camber adjustment. When you lift the truck with a spacer the control arm angle changes and there is no (reasonable) way to correct it using the stock arms.

A SLIGHTLY longer control arm with corrected bj/uniball cup angle would correct the alignment/and geometry. The camburg and chaos arms also use uniballs in place of the ball joints - much stronger.

3" is flat out too much for stock arms with autospring kit or not (just because the arm doesnt hit the coil doesnt mean everything else is ok). If you know how to cycle suspension, do it and youll see what I mean.

So...your telling him to buy the UCA and keep the 3 in spacer...how would the UCA correct the CV shaft angle...the proper way to do this is with a lift kit...which he would of nearly paid for with new UCA's

No. I said 3" is too much no matter what on stock arms. My truck is 2wd so I tend to default to that, wasnt even thinking about 4x, my bad. You are correct, a 4x should definitly have a drop down kit.

Wow! So sorry to OP for situation you are in. From what I understand, the FX4 only should go up to the 2.5" spacer. The other 4x4's can go up 3". I think the FX4 has different struts than the others, which is why you will notice some of the leveling kits specify FX4 compatibility or not. However, I know of 2 people who have FX4's that went 3" with no problems. I think theirs are '06's, but I'm not sure why on this. Someone should make a list of what brand and height of spacers work with which style and year of truck to prevent problems such as OP's.

OP, I've got the same kit and had it on for over a year now..yes the uca hits at full extension and has an awkward angle, but if you like it, then don't worry about it...when the bjs start messing up, order new uca from rock auto for $70 and forget about it for a while. Unless you just want to spend some dough, then pick up a 6" lift and get rid of the spacer.

You go, BigDaddy! Unless he is doing some major mudding, he shouldn't be at full extension and shouldn't have a problem with it hitting. For about $80 he could switch to 2.5" coil spacers and relax a little more if that helps. One thing Ford should do on the new truck, IMHO, is make it cheap and easy to lift, with none of these issues.

This is true, but leveling kits r really just for looks anyway...if you go wheeling or speedbump jumping with a 2.5" or 3" spacer and no suspension upgrades, you r just asking for trouble anyway.

Agreed thier just for looks, but, I wasnt reffering to speedbump "jumping", just getting it out there that ride qaulity will be poor with a 3" spacer. Even going slow over bumps its gonna clunk and top out. If your cool with that, fine, but just something to realize before going 3".
