Thanks for all the help guys. The spacer on the struts measured 1 3/4, so I guess it is a 3" lift according to HBS specs. I Took the wheel spacers off and checked clearance on everything. I shouldn't have any damage unless I really beat on it, which I won't do. I will order 1/4" wheel spacers to stay off the ball joints. I'll still have 1/4" of the wheel resting on the hub lip and only loose one or two threads on the lugs. I'll just have to live with that until the tires wear out.

Nah, that's maybe not even a 2.5". Usually 2.0" tall yields 2.5" of lift.

I'm going to be oredering my 35's here in the next week or so and in anticipation of that I ordered 1.5" wheel spacers. Not only do I want to avoid rub but I do like a 'bulldog" type stance

^I don't think that'll fit for the same reason the OPs aren't. Too wide for 35s on a truck with minimal lift.

I dont have a level spacer for a lift. I bought the truck with the full Rancho Quicklift and a 1.5" block in the back. However there are plenty of people on this forum that have spacer style levels that are running 35's with minimal to no issues

Yes, but not with wheels that have effectively 4.5" of backspacing. It's too wide. $50 says those aren't gonna fit and will rub like hell. And QLs are the same thing as a level. Those would maybe fit with 1/2" spacers.

Full 35x12.5" tires, especially Toyos and Nittos which are actually 13.4" wide, are too wide for stock wheels with 6" of backspacing. They're also too wide to be on a 7.5" wide wheel. All you did with the spacer was change from extremely high backspacing to extremely low backspacing, both of which are bad for fitting tires haha. Personally, I still think full 35s are too big to be a leveled 4x4s, but people do it all the time.

A 2.5" level kit measures about 2" tall because it does indeed gain some height from changes in geometry.

Best thing to do, shop for some aftermarket 18" wheels with about 5" of backspacing. A decent set can be had for about $700, craigslist should have some for less if you live near a city. I know it's sucky having to make a bunch of changes, but those are the joys we all experience while working on and modifying our trucks, believe me, I've had my own too haha

incorrect.

35x12.5s fit on stock wheels fine

If you want a 3" level.. Go for it... Most who say no never had that size installed and they are only regurgitating what someone else said.. The only truth is your angles will be at f***ed up angles..
Right on.

If you've actually read the thread, that is not always the case. They are too wide for stock wheels with 6" of backspacing in many cases, but not all. When they rub the UCAs, they're too wide. They are also too wide to wear properly on little 7.5" wide wheels. So no, you are incorrect. Read the thread.
